I had a terrible experience with paraguard. I would never recommend it for anyone. insertion was painful to the point that I cried. the iud got stuck in the tube and wouldn't come out so my doctor just kept jolting it until it finally popped into my cervix. I almost fainted in the hallway afterwards and the nurses had to bring me into a room until the color returned to my face. I had a bad experience with the removal 5 years later, my tissue grew over the iud so my doctor had a hard time finding it. it was extremely painful and she had to dig around to find it. I was bleeding and when she finally got it out it was broken in half. I passed chunks of tissue for two days after. I had to have xrays to find the broken piece which they never did find. I don't know if it fell out years before or what. I did get pregnant 3 months later and miscarried. I got pregnant again in about two months after and I'm currently holding my one month old rainbow baby. that's just my experience with the paraguard iud, it was awful. lots of people have good experiences with them but I did not.
