DID MY WATER JUST BREAK!? (TMI WARNING)
so after having small contractions all day yesterday and all night, I woke up feeling like shit. I have a dentist appt today, so I ate breakfast and went to get dressed. before putting my clothes on, I felt like I had to pee so I went to the bathroom. when I pulled my underwear down, a string of mucus detached from them and stayed on me. I noticed my underwear was fairly wet, so I took them off to get a new pair after I got done. I peed and went to wipe, pulling a HUGE piece of mucus (roughly a handful as gross as that measurement sounds) off of myself. not even 5 seconds after wiping, about a cup more of "pee" came out and I couldn't stop the flow (I tried to make sure it was pee). did my water just break? or am I just crazy? there is no smell to whatever is on my underwear (even though smelling my undies made me feel wierd as hell) and I was definitely done peeing (I usually push just a bit to double check an empty bladder since someone loves randomly hitting it). I'm kinda freaking out.
well I hadn't peed since I woke up so I did actually have to pee. the other stuff didn't come out till after I was done and wiping. and it just felt like someone poured water out except it was coming out of me and not a cup.@cait.mommyto3,
Amniotic fluid smells really sweet and it feels nothing like pee but kinda like discharge. It wouldn't make you feel like you have to pee, it just comes out and isn't stoppable. When my water broke with both my boys every time I would stand up more would come out. I would call l&d though and tell them, they'll want you to come in and get checked. You have 24 hours after your water breaks to give birth.
my tummy has been feeling wierd and making odd noises all morning and all of yesterday. could it have popped in my sleep and the plug was holding the water back so when the plug came out so did the water? @smb_mommy
Go get checked. My water broke at 37 weeks with my first and 36+6 with my second. they had to induce labor because I wasn't contracting or dilating. They want you to give birth within 24 hours and if not its emergency c section so I'd go to be on the safe side.
