OPINIONS NEEDED:
We have been wanting a family pet for a while so my best friend took it upon herself to find us something.
It just so happened to be right around now when the baby could be here any day....she originally found me a cute little white boy kitten (i adore cats) and i feel they are easy to take care of. We were supposed to take him tmrw.....but then she found us a jack russel/chihuahua mix (very cute puppy) and she paid money to hold him for us until next weekend when hes ready to leave.
Id be happy to have a pup but i feel the timing couldnt be worse and puppies are alot more work as far as potty training and needing to be more attentive.
What do yall think, honestly? Im 39 weeks pregnant
Haha, my husband wants a puppy.....I'm thinking I may cave right now cause I'm only 19 weeks. I have some time to train it before the baby comes! But I'd def be nervous about getting a puppy right before I give birth. That's a lot of work to juggle with a newborn!!!
lol yeah, i love cats, their so easy to maintain and yeah i cant imagine tolerating potty training and biting and chewing and craziness, just thinking about it is making me crazy @tiffrae @littlemissc
I would go with a kitten over a puppy. and Jack Russell's are hyper as all hell.
my puppy [well he's 2yrs now] is a handful even though he's already trained. my fiance wanted to get another one and I'm so happy I was able to talk him out of it. puppy needs all of your attention. kittens are a lot easier, just have to worry about the litter and pooh. it's you're choice but I wouldn't want to be getting a puppy now. I'd be even a bigger b**** than I already am haha
@1sttimemommy0516, yeahh, i can see that being an issue, @babyjjsmommy, your right...
Honestly it may just add extra stress that you don't need when you have your little one, I would wait until they were a couple months old and you kind of have a routine going and it'll probably be easier to add in a pet to take care of 😊
I have a puppy that just turned 1 and a 2 month old and its a lot of work. We are thinking about selling our Yorkie. We can't give her the attention she needs.
i knew it....i feel so bad bc she was so excited to tell us she got us a puppy and im just thinking like, ummm idn about this....lol @babyjjsmommy, @jjmom12345678, @lexirosex3, sooo no go on the kitten then either?
It will drive you insane. I was alone taking care of my NB and a Weimaraner puppy & she made me crazy.
The kitten may be cause I've heard a lot of cats like to get in cribs with baby
exactly, but what about the kitten? i dont think that would be a problem, right? @babyattmore @jjmom12345678
One thing at a time , newborn and doggy at the same time is too much work and attending to
One thing at a time. I wouldnt bring on a pet regardless if its a puppy or a cat. Many newborns can have allergic reactions to cats. I would just wait for baby to come first then decide on the pet.
