Went to the doctors yesterday my midwife checked me for the first time and said that I'm 1.5cm dilated 1/3 softened cervix and that my daughters head is right there resting on my cervix ... Last night had a very stressful fight with my SO we are fine now but for the past hour or two I've been having serious shooting pains and pressure in my pelvic area on top of back pain, I don't know if I should call my docs office and tell them and see if I need to go in, I'll be 38 weeks Friday and they said they were gonna sweep my membranes Tuesday if she doesn't come before then and put me on the induction list next Friday due too how much pain I've been dealing with ...I just don't want to take a unneed trip to the hospital but then again the pain gets so bad at times all I can do is cry .. Any suggestions please
If the pain gets so bad you're crying, just go to the hospital. They can at least give you some pain medication if it turns out to be nothing. It's always worth it to be safe and just go to the hospital whenever you think you should, even if it turns out to be fine. There's no shame in being concerned for your health and the baby's health. I hear you can do some exercises with your partner to reduce pain. For the first one, stand up and have him put his arms around you, and put his hands under your belly and hold it up, as if he's trying to lift the belly. The other one is standing up with both hands on a table, then have him push both hands into your lower back as hard as he possibly can. He can also get his knuckles into it or use his elbow, whatever you think will help. Communicate with him.
I'm in so much pain it's unreal and my doctor won't induce me until at least 39 weeks... ugh I got 3 weeks left to go until my due date.. it needs to hurry up.
