It's just a swab on the external part of your "area". It's to check for bacteria that could be dangerous for baby. It will determine if you need antibiotics during labor to protect baby
Quick swab of your anus and vagina, and if you're positive, they give you antibiotics during labor. Not bad at all. I was positive with my first, and neither of us had any problems.
@shakira05, no problem! It can be dangerous if not diagnosed and treated, but if you're getting prenatal care it's really unlikely that'll happen.
