I'm having one. My mil said well it's against social context to have one of you already have another child, I told her #1 I never got one with my first child and # 2 it's been 14 years since I had my son so I'm sure ppl will understand. She comes back with "I never threw you one?" I said no because she had told me I didn't know enough ppl here (in Virginia- because I'm from PA) but I knew a lot of ppl cuz I'd have been here over 2 years. My mom would've gave me one but she and 95% of my family lived in PA still. I say who cares what ppl say each baby is a blessing and each awaiting birth deserves celebration :)

I have about 100 people coming so I think I'll be good too. Most of them won't buy off my registry so I'll have a lot of returning to do. I'm grateful none the less. Hope you have a great shower 😊 Mine is in a couple weeks and I'm like a child counting down for a holiday.

@sarinunez, same here spending $500 or less our park pavilion cost $125 and then decorations $200 and my family is cooking, j have to buy some beers and drinks and that's all. I invited so many people so I know I'll get a gracious amount of gifts

My whole shower is costing under 500, because both our families are cooking, we're doing it in a nice park and only paid 95 to reserve it (would have been 55 but we got an alcohol permit) But I know people who spent over 2000 on there's, which is their choice. I'm excited to see all my family in one place and the gifts as well lol, it's like a mini Christmas.

@sarinunez, exactly and some say you spend all that money and the gifts never amount to what you spend. To me it's not even about the gifts to me it's about the celebration.

She's clearly jealous. My SO's kept mentioning how no one shows up to showers because no one showed up to hers. I didn't want to be mean but I said I really good friends and family... so I'm sure the turn out will be just fine.

I was on a different pregnancy app early on in my pregnancy and these ladies had all these 'rules' about who could or could not have more than one baby shower and why. it was absolutely ridiculous. like, where's this handbook because ya'll be making some of the weirdest rules I've ever heard. 😂😂😂

I think it is 100% acceptable to celebrate the birth of every child .. Regardless. For me personally I chose not to have a shower, because I want to go the "sip and see" route. It is just what fits for my family at this time. Who's to say my next baby I can't have a shower? You know.. It shouldn't matter. Every baby deserves to be celebrated!

@bria, and if she's jealous that's sad I never want anyone to be jealous of me at all cause she's actually a nice girl. Some people are just so closed minded and stuck in certain ways. I'll have a billion kids and a billion baby showers lmao. But I got rid of everything from my daughter. And her shower was last minute cause she was born at 29 weeks outta no where. So this time around I'm having a shower exactly how I want it and how I deserve it

it also depends how long it's been since you had the first baby. usually we don't do them with second but it's been 5 years since my first and I have nothing plus I'm alone in this pregnancy so I would love the support and love from friends and family.
