I don't normally moan cos I think it's nice to be happy and positive, which then makes others feel that way.
However, I am going to have a little moan about my 17 year old daughter.
I have just asked her if she can wash my 8 year olds hair for me in the bath as I can't bend down anymore.. I then said ohhhhh could you put the gas on for me ( pre pay meter - again cos it's on the floor outside and I can't bend), to which she started singing 'I'm a slave' by Brittany.
It's really peed me off!!! I refrained from spouting out all the things I do for her that she doesn't see ( wash, dry, iron clothes, dishes, cook, make sure sanitary items are available etc etc...). All I said was 'I think that's very rude'. 😠

It's ok hun, teens don't always understand... My girl is only 8 but her response is exactly how OH's sister would of reacted (she's also 17) I think it's that age isn't it where they got really stroppy at the smallest task

My mum would have done what you originally wanted to do lol. Then clipped me around the ear of I didn't do it or moaned again (different generation lol) Typical response of a 17yr old thinking their hard done by bless her lol

it's totally normal.. try and have a conversation with her nicely about that and say it hurts you. but only when u aint arguing with each other.(i'm very young and can remember how i was at the age of 17. some teenagers just can't fully think through their actions ) x

thanks ladies @apunini @sara-lou @sweetsesame. I think she knew she'd gone a bit too far cos immediatly after she asked me if I wanted her to take the clean washing up. It's a hard life being a teen.... sitting in your room all day playing on your phone *rolls eyes*
