Okay so Lucas will be 2 weeks Thursday. I was told not to give him a paci until he is 1 month old because I breastfeed, but I already bottlefeed & I also use a nipple shield. Today he found his thumb and is always sucking on that as well as his hands & fingers. Just now he had a bottle, then some boon & when he fell asleep eating I put him in his cradle & he woke up right away sucking again & I really dont think he is hungry. My question is do you think it would be alright to go ahead & give him a paci? I have ones for 0-3 months.
i think it would be okay i only used a paci for mi son at bedtimes and naptimes when he didnt want to have his bottle anymore it helps he didnt get dependent on it at all he didn't really like it though unless he was sleeeping my daughter seems to be the same way i think it just depends on the baby really
Ohhhh they do... I dont think I have heard of a baby only use it for nap or bed time... its a comfort thing in the beginning. My brother chose his thumb, hes almost 3, and always sucks his thumb. He gets sick all the time now because he always puts his thumb in his mouth even though his hands arent clean from playing or whatever. I chose the pacifier to avoid that. I would google ways to introduce the paci during nap time to see if its possible ...
oh if you want me to see the message just put the @ symbol then my name :)
I'm just nervous he will grow dependent on it. I really only want him to use it for nap time & bed time.
He will spit it out at first, but just keep putting it in his mouth, he will get the idea. It took my son a day to realize after feeding he gets a paci, and thats it haha
thank you ladies @rachel8792 @lacywriter91 la
