just go with the name you love

I hate my name not being popular, nobody pronounces it correctly, it was never on anything, like how you can get a Keychain or pen. I had to special order my name on a necklace and the cost was way more because it wasn't a popular name. However, idk how I would feel if I had a popular name.

go with a name you love I was the same way. we had Peyton for a boy. and picked out Hazel Grace for a girl. we had a girl and so Hazel Grace it was and she fits it perfectly. bad thing about 2 first names is people keep calling her just Hazel thinking Grace is her middle name

That's my trouble with naming my second son....all the names I have liked are in the top 100 with our first son his name is rare and not popular at all. Very hard to find a name thats not common and that you like.

I think if you love it then go for it. Idk how much credit I give to top names due to it being a majority across the states usually. I have a 5 yr old niece named luna and besides hearing how popular it has become I do not know any other little girls with that name around here.

@mlgh92, It's kind of a difficult balance to find. I grew up as a "Megan" and it got so old having to go by my initials or middle name in school because there were literally at least 2 other Megans in all of my classes growing up. But I can see how having a super uncommon name could be equally as obnoxious if people never know how to spell it or what you said with the finding your name on stuff issue.

@babizehm16, Hazel Grace is cute! I don't think a lot of people are used to two first names so they probably just assume it's a middle name. I've heard Grace as a middle name fairly frequently so people probably just assume it's the middle name. What is her middle name?

If you love it go with it! I love the name Charlotte I always have and that's what I'm naming my daughter. It is one of the most popular names right now which I don't like and I'm sure she will complain to me when she is older but I've always loved the name and just can't get it out of my head!

@tiffrae, It's definitely hard 😔 I've been using an app called BabyNames that is helpful. You can put in the info you want for the name and have it filter out the "Top 100" names. We've found a few nice names through it, but it's hard when your all time favorite is one that is growing in popularity. 😞

@2to3mommy, I haven't heard any Lunas around personally, but one of my exes named his baby that (which just ticks me off because I'm sure he knows I love the name but whatever). I'm not about to let him be the reason I don't pick it because he swiped it from me, but he also lives nowhere near us so we wouldn't be running into them or anything.

@katielee5897, I love Charlotte too as well as Scarlett. Just so classic and beautiful. I'm surprised Charlotte is rising honestly! I feel like short vowely names have been very popular lately (like Ava, Mia, etc).

my first name is Jenae which I still don't hear often maybe met 3 jenae in my life. but it's a popular middle name as well

I swore, up and down, that I would never name my child something plain or from the bible (I don't know why), but when you find a name and try it out, it will just fit. My son will be Jacob Israel Reed Harding. Yup, that is two biblical names, but they are also family names.
