am I crazy for letting my almost 4 yr old go play outside by him self? I don't have a fenced in yard. sometimes my mom makes me feel like I should let him outside by him self. but I trust him not to go in the road, and hes scared of everything so I trust he will stay in the yard. I make sure he's in sight most of the time and I check on him constantly. lol. I just need him out of my hair for a few, these last few weeks. I really don't care what ppl say but sometimes it's nice to hear something nice and positive! lol.

lol, I know I can remember my parents telling me to go outside and do something all the time. lol. he doesn't have anyone his age to really play with and I feel terrible about that. I don't have the motivation or energy to take him to the parks to play with other kids daily. so just to give him some sun and a change of senary I let him play outside in the back yard while I do dishes or something. then he comes in while I shower. I don't know maybe it's alittle crazy, but my he will be 4 in august and I feel he's way more mature for his age, and isn't your typical 3 yr old. lol. he's very smart and I feel pretty responsible for his age! he's a very good kid, listens to me very well. I don't know maybe it is a little crazy but I'm not too crazy worried about it I guess. Lol thank you to all you ladies for your input even if you don't really agree with me.

Oh man, so much has changed since I was a kid. I remember riding my bike all over our small town as a kid. Four might be a little bit young for alone time outside, but for short periods while you are checking on him is probably ok. I say this, but I haven't given birth yet....so who knows how I will feel when I get to that point.

Personally I wouldn't let him out alone checking on him every few min is great but it only takes a second for something to happen.... My son is 6 and doesn't go out alone, not because I don't trust him but because you never know what can happen.

my oldest(4, 5 in October) isn't allowed outside unless there's an adult watching, because you never know with all these crazy people taking kids now. even if there's other kids playing, me or my mil have to be outside with him.

lol. it does sound cray to let him play outside alone, but he's not the type that's curious about what's down the street, or other animals or anytbing like that. he has toys in the back yard that keeps him pretty occupied lol. I guess I am worried about a stranger coming by and snatching him up. but when I say I constantly check on him I mean like every few mins I go to the doors and ask how he's doing. I even let my 2 dogs out in the yrd with him and one is a pretty protective male border collie. lol. I have just never had any problems yet and he's been going out by him self for a couple weeks now, not for long periods of time or even everyday. lol.

I wouldn't lol I couldn't trust a three yr old out my sight outside.

Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk outside without this information. Children of color are being targeted and killed too. It’s not just adults. I let my son know we treat everyone equally and with respect. I let him know that we love everyone for their differences. In every aspect. Color, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference we love everyone.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

I don't think she gets it. I swear sometimes I just need to renew my policy to not look at the comments in Facebook. I never used to. I don't know why I started. But the ignorance is real.
