How much should my 5 almost 6 week old be eating? I'm a mom of 3 and I know if he's hungry feed him and I know he won't over eat . However some people are saying u should be feeding him 6 oz bottles every 3.5 to 4 hrs and I'm not. I'm only giving him 3 oz ever 3 hours and he seems so content with that. I feel like 6 oz is alot still.

that seems like enough. if baby is satisfied then it's enough. mine didnt start drinking 6oz until like 4 months. he only went up 1/2oz at a time. as long as there are enough wet diapers i wouldn't worry
6oz is a lot for a 3week old. I think 3oz. is okay! I'm not 💯%! Because I breastfeed! It sounds more correct!
My son was born 8lbs 6oz and he spent a week in nicu. When he was there he drunk 8oz then dropped to 6 at like a month old. After that he always just drunk 6oz up until maybe 9 months when he was eating more solids and didn't really drink formula much which his doctor said was okay since he was eating more solids and still drunk some formula maybe 4oz every meal. He'll be 15 months next week and drinks maybe 2 cups of a milk, about 8oz each a day. It could be the bottle having him spit up even the formula or he just a little eater.
@lifewithplumms, really ? wow. He tolerates it okay? I gave Bryson 4 oz a few nights ago and he spit most of it up.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
So I went to the doctors for my baby today nd they are telling me he's too big!!! He will be 3 months old on the 10th!! He is 14 Lbs 12 oz he was born 7Lbs 10 oz. It wasn't his normal doctor tho...his usual doctor knows that he eats 5-6 oz nd said it was fine but now they are telling me to take him down to 3oz!!!! Idk what to do he freaks out when I stop feeding him at 3....I feel sooooo bad!!!!!

At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
