I don't see why a doctor would recommend your nine month old to sit in a front facing car seat…

She's probably BSing, as rude as that sounds. I highly doubt a doctor would tell anyone to break the law, especially one that could potentially save a baby's life.

she just doesn't want to look stupid lol. advanced for her age as in she can do things before other babies her age, but not her body physically.

If she's from Branson, I'd almost believe a doctor actually said that. They've got some pretty wacky doctors down there. But that's no excuse to put your baby's life in danger

lol I agree with @kelseys, she just doesn't wanna seem stupid. A police officer might say it's okay but it's because most aren't actually educated on car seat safety, and let's be honest, most of them don't care (also how many times is she being pulled over for several cops to tell her it's okay lol?). It's definitely dangerous if your baby is not the proper age or size to be front facing, and if that doctor seriously told her that, then she needs to not be a doctor anymore because she's not only telling people that it's okay to break the law, but she's also potentially putting children in harms way.

At least you tried girl. It's worrisome but some people just don't want to hear facts. You did the right thing by at least trying to tell her!

@katarama, right she doesn't need to be driving if she's been pulled over several times lol and yeah I tried I'm done with it her baby might be advanced but that's not going to stop her from getting hurt in an accident. Sadly she'll learn the truth when her baby gets hurt..

No doctor would recommend that.. If she's driving so bad that she's been pulled over multiple times, then she definitely needs to take every precaution to keep that child safe (rear facing is safest). She seems full of shit. As an insurance professional, driving school instructor, and a mother I am scared for her baby! She needs to research correct car seat guidelines, and see what could happen to her baby being in an inappropriate position if they were to wreck (I pray to God they don't!) a lot of people think it's no biggie, and prematurely graduate their children to forward facing, booster, and eventually regular seat belt instead of the 5 point harness, but the safety guidelines and weight limits are in place for a reason!
