with my first, I got two stitches and it took months to even feel normal when standing or walking because it always felt swollen there. but after my second I had no stitches so I felt fine the same day.

I had a second degree tear too. The day after I left the hospital was thanksgiving and I had places to go. It didn't bother me walking around or sitting down. Guess everyone's different!
