Apparently getting married before having kids means you have morals and want to build a foundation... um okay lol.…

Now the only thing I will say is that last year my SO and I had a convo about what would happen if he died because he doesn't have a will or anything and at the time he didn't have life insurance. I stopped working almost 2 yrs ago to go back to school, and now we have a new baby so I'll stay home with her, and I was saying to him that if he died I'd be SOL because I don't have my own money, the house is in his name along with his rental properties. So he had to make some changes in those areas so I'd feel comfortable with this arrangement

I have a friend who wasn't dating her now husband long before she got pregnant. And he moved to another state to be with her and eventually got engaged and married before the baby came. She said they had discussed marriage and children but I doubt it would of all moved that fast if she hadn't been pregnant. Not even married 2 years and they are split up. I think they thought being married would somehow benefit the baby better, but it was definitely all rushed. I'm in no hurry to get married! I got pregnant a month into my BF and I dating. We live together and that's good enough for me right now! Getting a ring after this summer would be nice!but we certainly wouldn't run out the next day and get married! Bring on the wedlock babies! Society and the people can kiss my fat ass💋

My boyfriends grandmother always ask when we are going to stop living in sin and get married...and every time I tell her I am more than comfortable living in sin. It fits me just fine and I quite enjoy it. She gets so mad. And now his mom saying the next announcement we make better be cuz we are getting married and every time I start laughing and change the subject...all it is is a piece of paper and I can make one with the same words, doesn't mean jack shit

@cubanese So nice to talk to someone who isn't ignorant to gov and their bs. They want to fit us into these little boxes. I'm good. I would rather be spiritually united, than have a piece of paper saying I'm legally married.

My mom is too, but I told her I didn't want to hear it. She can think what she's thinks and the same with me. @amaperalta03 Some of the happiest couples I know aren't married, not saying they wouldn't be happy if they for married but so many put an emphasis on marriage and a piece of paper has no value to me. What my man does for me everyday and what I do for him, has value. The trust and love we have or each other, that speaks truth. Not the gov, saying we are one... f that.

yep I agree, nothing changes. you just get a peice of paper that tells the government and who ever else that you financially one and share everything, and possibly so the government can screw you somemore. lol. so naw I'm good. we are happy so that's all that matters. lol.

my baby daddy and I have been together for awhile now and people say now that we're having a baby that we should get married. i don't believe in getting married just because you're having children. marriage is serious and unless you're 100% you shouldn't do it. it also doesn't define your relationship. I know married couples who's relationships suck.

I agree my mom and mother in law are pushing it on us talking about do it for the kids. I said oh hell no. I don't wanna get married we are good how we are now

@cubanese I planned on getting married but when someone asked me why, I didn't have a valid reason except I want to spend the rest of my life with my SO, but marriage doesn't have to happen for us to be in a happy and healthy relationship.

@haileysmommy21 I agree, no one is better than anyone. No one truly knows what goes on behind closed doors.

@smiles2 I just don't get what changes? Both my SO and I are making each other our power of attorney, I'm leaving everything I own to my SO and son in a trust fund and vice versa. People say when you get married you become one, but in all reality you're financially one and in the eyes of the government you are one... and I don't care for the government or care to be seen as one by them. @smiles2

My mom is pushing it on me and I wanted to get married but when I asked my self why, I didn't have a valid answer. I love my SO and I would give my life for his, I want to spend my life with him, but I can do all that and not be married. @2ndchancemommy We may have a little ceremony with each other and give each other rings but I don't see us going to the courthouse. As long as people are genuinely happy, I don't see why its anyone's business if they're married.

I've met a few people who think there better cause they got married first before having kids together..... I say what the fuck ever you do you but don't shame me because I didn't do it the "Right way"... I had my first when I was 18 with my Fiancé and we were together 2 years before we had our babes.... Now we've been together for almost 5 years and married for 2 with baby #2 on the way... And we're still going stronger than ever!! It really doesn't matter how it goes as along as you and your partner are truly happy! That's my opinion.

I agree, I have no desire to marry my partner of 12 yrs. don't get me wrong I love him, but I just don't feel like getting married, EVER! lol. I'm perfectly fine going through my life and never getting married.

I agree! im married, but i in no way think im better than anyone in a relationship who isnt married. Some people get married for all the wrong reasons so its not even worth it in the long run. You definitely have to be comfortable with your SO before making such a huge step
