So I'm scheduled for a C-section next Tuesday the 28th and I was wondering if it was ok to breastfeed while on pain meds? I have a very low tolerance for pain so I'm sure I'll be on meds for a lil bit.. Of course I'll try to come off them ASAP tho..TIA😊

Yeah I was given Percocet and Motrin. After I left the hospital I only took the percs when I couldn't stand the pain otherwise I took the Motrin.

that's what worries me @mamesey maybe they'll put me on lighter meds like ibuprofen so it won't be as bad

Yes its okay to. But it does get to the baby and make them drowsy. So I refused pain meds. But it's totally safe to! That was just my preference.

@mjmommy, they gave me hydrocodone and ibuprofen and it was fine to nurse

Yes. my Dr had me on pain meds for a while after my c section and said totally fine to bf
