Okay ladies I haven't posted in this category before but here it goes. I am due in about 11wks (+/-) and I am going to breastfeed if baby boy allows that to happen. I am going to be a stay at home mom for awhile but I am going to pump. I am asking when do I pump. i have heard so many different things. The one I hear most is nurse then pump. After every feeding to pump? Input ladies?

i know I'll be pumping, not waiting. I'm gonna have family and husband helping feed him while I rest and clean or whatever so they kinda need bottles. Thanks though ladies.

you technically aren't supposed to pump until around 6 weeks because you can create an oversupply which can cause tons of problems.. BUT I'll say this, I started pumping at 3 weeks and if I wouldn't have my daughter would have had to have formula last week when I had my gallbladder removed because of the pain medicine I was on.. So if you want to pump, but only pump once a day after the first morning feed. you'll be able to start a good stash without really making an overaupply

I would say pump as much as possible it will help develop more milk because your body thinks the baby needs it
