I gave one right away and he doesn't take it unless he's away from me or when my MIL watches him. He uses his hands a lot more to comfort himself unless he's really fussy then I'll nurse him.

I didn't introduce a paci til he was 4 weeks. I told the hospital staff no bottles and no pacis no matter what. he is 6 weeks now and doesn't care one way or another. he only cries when he's hungry so there's no need for a paci. they say sometimes babies just want to suck so if I'm unable to let him comfort nurse then I give him a paci for 10 to 20 mins then take it away

i gave my LO one bc she was doing the same thing. only time she gets it is when she's fussy. most times she prefers her hands

mine won't take it.. but I'm ok with comfort nursing. she just discovered her hand so she is starting to self soothe too.
