I am getting discouraged breastfeeding. I spoke to the lactation specialist and based on what she told me my baby is feeding the colostrum (or whatever it's called). But I am not sure. How are my breasts supposed to feel. They feel just flabby like there's nothing in there. How do I increase milk supply? I really want to try and continue to breastfeed. Help if anyone can. Thank you ladies.
yes, I am researching it now too! however, they are extremely expensive (since I'm not working it looks kinda pricey) :/ have they helped you? @madilynn16
i know babies r us sells lactation cookies and they do deliver. @mrspavlides
great!! thank you so much for all of your encouragements! I will keep trying and trying I won't give up that easily this time just one last question do you know of any store that delivers to your house for these lactation cookies? @bodaciousb6 @mommyof2boys248 @madilynn16 @foreverjalisa @thompsonofficial @mluvs7
It will come don't worry, just be patient. You will know your boob will get engorged.
You have to feed every two hours and sure you drink a lot of water it helps with milk production. It took me a week for my milk to to start coming in. My daughter would on feed for 5 to 10 minutes each time I nursed her. You milk produces based on baby and he's or her needs. @mrspavlides . You can buy lactation cookies from mooncookies.net or make your own there are recipes on pinterest.
patients! I cried so much because I thought my milk wasn't going to come, but around day 3 I was leaking everywhere, my baby girl has been getting milk for 3 weeks now and hopefully so much longer, I am a 1st time mommy and still learning a lot! but make sure to drink plenty of water as I am sure you have been told many times. it will come, just pray and know God will provide!
you can also make your own lactation cookies. Pinterest or even google has recipes
got it thank you so much for the information @rachel8792 I will keep that in mind and put it to practice
If you are still in the hospital they can give you free samples of the lanolin cream just in case you dont have any. I know, lots of info lol
Also use lanolin for your nipples after each feeding before they begin cracking and bleeding (i didnt know, so i got really bad) Your nipples arent used to the baby suckling, and repeated moisture and dryness can cause chapping. If you begin to feel sore, use warm washcloths after each feeding as well
colostrum is clear, or like a light clear yellow. You will know when your milk comes in (usually around day 3 or 4) because your breasts will be much fuller. Right now they feel empty because your baby is getting colostrum( its normal to cluster feed) and will eat very often since its light vs milk. My son ate practically every hour to 1.5 hours, I felt like a human pacifier, but dont worry, once your milk comes in, it will be about every 2 hours. Drink lots of water, and have oatmeal. They have cookies they sale at babies r us-oatmeal ofcourse :)
what does colostrum look like? my nipples look dry. would it show on my nipples if she is eating the colostrum? @babyjunebug
darn I no longer have a Facebook page does she have her own website would you know? or instagram or something @kayla471 ok, I will continue to breastfeed her@babyjunebug
and the treats add made by registered nurse's also too. but @babyjunebug. is right also
You produce colostrum for the first few days. Then your milk comes in around day three. This is when your breasts will feel more hard and full. Just keep baby sucking because that helps bring the milk in. But they need the colostrum for the first few days.
The lactation cookies are 2.50 per cookie. It would probably be cheaper to make it yourself. The website cookies are the same price she just doesn't sell them individually.@mrspavlides,
