Losing my mind a little :( baby girl will only sleep when me or my partner are holding her, as soon as we put her in her bassinet she starts straining and eventually cries until one of us picks her up. She poops once a day and it's a big clump then it goes soft. I'm so tired and can't hold her forever :( if anyone has any advice at all it would be much appreciated! I also started her on S-26 Gold Newborn formula 2 weeks ago due to breastfeeding issues and my healthcare nurse said it's her tummy getting used to it but her symptoms seem to have gotten worse :(
Thank you ladies heaps @carlyanaya and @steph194, I've just been stressing that I'm doing something wrong and causing her the pain. I'll try out the massage a couple of times a day and see if that helps and look into the Chekoh for sure if it will give her some sort of relief. It really is so difficult not knowing what is fully wrong with her and not being able to help :(
Yeah what Steph said it's a phase they grow out of. A horrible one, Remmer went from colic to reflux and then he just had wind up to now and he's 4.5 months. It will get easier, just know that it will with time and do what you have to do to get through it
Buy a Chekoh, recommend them 150% to let you get things done with fussy Bub and they also help with colic & stomach pains due to the positioning. Unfortunately this is a phase, typical for this age. I've just finished over coming it myself & it's rough. Sometimes we're still unsettled in the bassinet at bedtime but I refuse to pick her up, I make sure she's comfortable, fed & dry, I darken the room and give her the security blanket until she's asleep as it helps her soothe holding onto something. Then I remove the blanket and she normally stays down for the whole 5.5 hr stretch.
Oh and also once a day pooing actually sounds good! My boy just went 8 days without but he's bf. Just the sound of her pops being lumpy sounds like she's a bit constipated to me
I used this one and do it about 8 times over roughly a couple times a day
Also if she's having trouble pooing look up constipation reflexology massage for babies on YouTube! It's a foot massage that helps them go and it works for me when my son doesn't go for a while
@nicolemarie, hmm sounds like she has a sore tummy but I can't be sure. If her poos are kind of lumpy she's probably a bit constipated, you might have to trial other formulas? I use a homeopathic remedy called stomach calm, brand is brauer. You can get it from chemists, I never know if the remedies help much but I think they take the edge off if given consistently. You should be able to find the book on Amazon, it's a bit of a read but being as she's only 2 weeks you can get a head start and just start to incorporate some of her advice into her day. She talks about everything for babies aged 6 months and up but it all worked for my 2 month old. It took some time but he is 4.5 months now and it's worked. Lots of hard work though, I'll say that! But first thing is to get her out of pain which sounds like she is.
She just constantly is uncomfortable and strains, like she's pushing a poo out but nothing comes out, then if I put her down she will squirm and strain then eventually cry. I can soothe her and she will fall asleep on me but as soon as I put her down, she wakes up and it starts :( can I find the guide online? Thank you for your advice @carlyanaya :)
Does she have any other symptoms with the formula? My advice for the sleeping is to read sleep dream baby guide by Sheyne rowley. I started implementing it when my son was 5 weeks old and now he self settles and we have a routine every day, very happy when awake and almost falls asleep on cue now.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
