Been having contractions that are 5,6 minutes apart and really painful (from my lower stomach to my lower back) since 4 this afternoon. Hoping it is thinning my cervix and dilating me. Not sure when I'm gonna go to L&D. Going to try and wait as long as I can because I'm only 1cm and 60% effaced and my water hasn't broken or I haven't lost my mucus plug that I know of.

Oh ok lol but yeah that sounds like the real thing. If they start being consistently 2-5 mins apart I'd go in

no, sorry I read your question wrong, they're lasting 50 seconds to a minute. @bianca_rose

Wow, that's a long contraction. Is that how long they were last night?

The nurse at the birthing class told me that. It could be different for different hospitals though, you never know.

I went in last night and they just sent me home because my contractions slowed down and I was only 1cm dilated. but today the pain has gotton stronger and I'm trying to wait it out because I don't want to get sent home again. @meboom01

They say to go in whenever you have contractions that are 5 minutes apart regardless if your water broke or not or how dilated you are
