So the midwife told me i could get induced at 41 weeks if i want to or wait. That they wouldn't let me go past 42 for safety of baby. I think ill wait. Induction sounds much more dramatic, long lasting, and they say more painful then natural labor. Any advice?
@micky, yep exactly. When you're induced, they monitor you more closely because of the potential complications. which means you're either stuck in bed or very close to it (depending on the hospital). Hope you go into labor on your own!
True, altho I can't wait to meet my baby but for him ill wait :) @babybue16
8 hours doesn't sound bad but if im induced im afraid ill be stuck in the hospital during labor and that seems more stressful then waiting at home until contractions r close @mommagotbump16
Yeah i told her i would wait for the best of the baby. Natural is always better in my opinion as long as the baby is not in danger @arivera64 the good news is that my baby has officially dropped so hopefully any day now. I heard first time moms drop only a couple days before labor..
I think if you want a natural, unmedicated birth, no induction is probably better if you can avoid it. I'm pregnant with my first so I have no experience but most birth stories I've read say that induction causes much worse contractions and it's harder to avoid getting an epidural because the contractions are more painful. I say let baby come when it wants to unless medically necessary. Most people I know get induced though.
@micky, my longest one (with my first) I was in labor for about 14 hr. I was in labor 8 hr this last time
I never went into labor on my own, but yes it's my understanding it's more painful to be induced. I've done it twice, and while it wasn't awful, I really wish I hadn't had to.
Thankyou ladies!
