@holliesinead, I had the same thing midwife advised me to put baby powder on it to mask the smell but nothing much can be done👎🏽

when his fell off it was weeping puss ans blood and going all over his vests and it had a red ring around it, they give him medicine which didn't agree with him so then he had an antibiotics cream xx

@leigh-amyxo, when he wakes I will do but what happened when you're little man got infected? @suzie80 no redness or oozes its just the normal yellow/black dying colour at the moment it's. Just a sweet / weird smell I did think it was his natural scent at first but it's Defo the cord

If it smells hun it does mean it is going to come off. Theo had a smell coming from his cord 2 days prier and it fell off hun. I also worried about infection and that. I spoke to my midwife and i told her how i felt and i found her advice cery useful. Please dont worry hun about it. 😀😀 If you need a chat just message me. xxx

You'll know if it gets infected it goes bright red round the stump and oozes. And the smell won't be nice but mostly there is no smell of it is minor. Keep it dry and clean and it will be fine. The smell u are talking about is the smell from when they were in you. Did u not notice that smell when your waters went or when they delivered baby onto you? It's an odd one I don't like the smell personally. Lol
