Is there any first time mother planning on having a natural birth with the assistance of a midwife? as oppose to a hostipal setting? aireally want to do it but my mom is insisting of me going to a hostipal :( now im scare
check out indie birth, it's a website that provides free information on all things natural birth, and a book I highly recommend Sacred Birthing good luck to you =) @sophisticated87
@loveless, thanks so much for that advice:) im getting as educated as possible on the process
don't give into the fear or the pressure of others. I had a lot of that from my family and I did my research, believed in my body and trusted my feelings and I was able to give birth at home naturally the way I knew my baby wanted, my baby is healthy and there were zero complications. trust yourself, only you know what's best for you and your baby.
@camsmommy16, @sam.g thanks so much ladies you are the only one that responded. its scary being a first time mother
I was on the fence between home birth and the birthing center in our hospital. But after research, I am going to the birthing center. If you look into hospitals with "Baby Friendly" status, they do a lot of what I wanted with home birth, but have emergency services if needed.
Do you have Netflix? The documentary "The business of being born" is a really good watch and can be a decision maker. I will be giving birth in a hospital but only because I am unable to choose at the moment... If I could I would have gone with a natural water birth at home or just a natural birth at a birthing center both with midwives. But girl for centuries women never needed epidurals but in the end it's your body and your decision.
I had mine at home with a midwife. it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. plus being home where I am comfortable and can do other things to occupy my mind. my sister has done both and said that she will never have a hospital birth again because she was stuck on the back burner and baby was born on doctors time not his.
