My husband told me today he thinks I could have easily gone without the epidural when I gave birth. granted, the epidural only worked on one side of my body after about 2 hours, so I got to feel a lot of the pain... maybe I could, but I like to think I got to escape a lot of pain by having it work on at least half of my body, lol!!
So you were pretty much induced too lol.
I would do labor and deliver all over again. It's just the recovery I would dread. To me that has been the worse part.
@cbe2016, my water broke on its own while I was at work, but they gave me pitocin once I got admitted lol, cause I wasn't dilated at all. it made the contractions really hard. I just didn't enjoy the pain, and don't want to do it again lol.
Aww. That sucks. But I agree that if you did it with a messed up epidural you could do it without one. Even that one sided pain sucked lol. I got mine placed asap but I was also induced too.
@cbe2016, I got to the pushing part too fast after they put my epidural in, the anesthesiologist was in a c section and couldn't get to me in time to fix it lol.
Mine did the same thing. I felt everything on my right side. I felt them break my water and put the catheter in. I finally got a second epidural 3 hours later and it worked.
from my water breaking to his birth was 12 hours and 21 minutes, and I did about half of that with no pain meds really. hopefully all my future labors are as fast lol! @ellizet13
Yea it felt like my tail bone was breaking apart and I could feel my daughters head move the catheter around. I was in labor for 8 hours. So it wasn't too bad.
They tried rolling me over and it didn't make a difference for me :-( @ellizet13
omg that happened to me. They kept turning me on each side because she would fall asleep. So the only part that got numb was the side I was on.

Am I wrong to be upset? Last night I was running a fever, weak, tired, sore, my left boob feels like it got used as a punching bag. I asked my husband to call out of work today to help me with the kid so I could get some rest. He went to work. I texted him this morning. Part of me thinks I mean. The other part of me thinks I was fine for saying that because he should've stayed home with us.
Mom's that went natural no meds , was it painful? Or painful PAINFUL ? I got an epidural last time but I wanna go no meds...

Birth Plan Rant
I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?

Got to the hospital at 4 am to start my pitocin, well.. I was put on the drip at 430 am , and was 4cm dilated and 80 percent effaced, an hour later. The nurse came in to check me, hours later, and I was at 6 cm. I got the epidural at 6cm.. But it didn't work for me, no more than 20 minutes later, I couldn't take the pain, I was screaming and crying.. And felt everything.. most terrible pain ever, I called for my nurse to come in and she checked me again, said I was ready to deliver, babys head ...
@cbe2016, oddly, I felt that I recovered really fast. I even had some stitches and stuff, but all the things they sent me home with really helped me feel ok. my baby was also in the NICU for 19 days, so I guess I was more focused on that at the time.
