so was going to tell ER last night for fluids and monitoring since after drinking 5 48oz mugs of ice water the back labor pain didn't stop. we got there and there were 2 ambulances unloading one loading for transfer and they were waiting for a medflight to arrive. so I ask the receptionist how long of a wait before I even signed in because of course we had my daughter with us and it was already 8:30 at night. she then tells me there are 2 OB patients ahead of me and only one OB room. (small hospital can you tell) so I said how long she said, if people keep leaving I may get seen around 2 am. so I said forget it and left. hell I'd have sat in the waiting room hooked to the IV. I think it's stupid the L&D won't see you until 24 weeks. I mean I understand why but seriously. what if these are no contractions from dehydration? what's the ER gonna do? NOT A THING. They will call L&D to come down...why not save them the trip. anyways so the L&D nurse tells me drink plenty of fluids, completely ignoring how much I'd told her I've had already, change positions, walk, try a hot shower or heating pad...I said lady I'm not trying to be rude but this ain't my first rodeo and I've tried that all already. she told me to go to the ER then. I explained how busy they were and she said well there is nothing they can do to call my OB this morning. my OB isn't there so the NP tells me to do the same thing the nurse from L&D did. even after I'd explained I already have. so guess in just drinking Gatorade all day and can't really say sitting on my butt because I'm the only one home taking care of my daughter. so if they don't go away I guess I'll be at the ER again tonight and stay until I get seen....I pray it's not long it that they just go away.
