Girls with anxiety disorders... does having a baby affect the anxiety? If so, in what way and how did you cope??
@suzie80, he use to work and back then I didn't have a problem with it but then in September he left work and hasn't been able to work since (I fell pregnant in September) and it's just got worse and worse. Back in April it was my mums birthday meal and he didn't feel well and he told me to go without him and I had a complete melt down! It's not just a fear of being without him, it's also a feeling of "why are you okay with me going without you? Do you not want me around? Are you trying to get rid of me?" ect ect
Has this just been since pregnancy ? @firsttimemummy21 ? Sounds like a touch of agoraphobia. Have you spoken to your gp or midwife to explain your struggling with that? I got this after my second was born and monophonic a fear of being on my own too. Spent 3 years only able to leave my house with my partner and having panic attacks. I had hypnotherapy in the end and although I still struggle with this its a lot better now. I don't leave the house much these days. I do what I need to but rarely do much else
@suzie80, I can't leave the flat without my OH and he can't go out and leave me in the flat :( even if he pops to the shop next door I just sit there completely freaking out :( I wouldn't even be able to go out with family or a friend if he wasn't there... When we were last at my mums she offered for me to go have my hair cut (literally 2 mins down the road) and I just couldn't do it! I couldn't leave my OH at my mums and go get my bloody hair cut :( I really don't know what's wrong with me... There are literally no circumstances where I can be separated from him and not freak out xxx
@beccastirlingx, I want to be out the hospital asap! I think the best place for me after having will be at home, in my bed :) xx
@suzie80, thank you :) it's so nice to know I have people to talk to :) this app is the first time I've ever felt I've been accepted by people because normally I feel like I just annoy people and they don't want me around 😂 xx
You'll be ok Hun there used to seeing this all the time. As time drags on with loads of time on your hands @firsttimemummy21 you'll be worrying more and more overthinking! I know because today I have sat here so low feeling like all I do is sleep eat feed the children and don't do much. I'm starting to worry about being on my own and not coping again. I know I eventually get through it and im@a good mum. But I get really nervous and anxious. I'm a mess pp and no doubt I'll be on here tearing my hair out loads later on. Just stay in touch on here there's loads of help and it may look like everyone is just fine but there are lots of us hidden with anxiety or a history of it. I think of you everyday wondering if things are moving for you. And I will keep u in my thoughts when you have the baby. You can always pm me or others 😃
@firsttimemummy21, completley understand! My mum eventually told me just to stay and the midwifes took care of Jayce that night. Anxiety is awful, worrying and getting so worked up over nothing. I know it's difficult but trust yourself and those around you! You'll do amazing and I'm sure you'll do what's best for you and your little on! Xx
@beccastirlingx, if I have to be induced I imagine I'll have to make decisions and I know I'll get all flustered and upset 😫 xx
@firsttimemummy21, anxiety goes out the window when labour is in full swing, it was after when I had to decide to stay the night or go home, I just panicked and got so flustered the midwifes didn't understand what I was getting so worked up about! You'll be fab Hun! Xxx
@firsttimemummy21, like yourself, I should be taking meds but I refused them from the start, I have my bad days but I get through! But when your little girl is first here, you will be on cloud 9! And don't forget you have all the ladies here for support when you need it! X
@suzie80, @beccastirlingx I am also very worried about not being able to settle her and not getting enough sleep ect... I also really struggle when I'm in hospital and I have to explain to midwives what's wrong with me, I feel my face burning up and I stutter and just panic. I just can't tell them what's wrong ect :( I dunno what I'm going to do when I'm in labour, I'm going to be battling against my anxiety the whole time :( xxx
@firsttimemummy21, I was bad in the beginning. Got signed off work with anxiety attacks. At first, I was good I dealt with it fine, but after a week or 2 it started getting horrific, baby blues did not help!! I got so anxious around bed time, all on edge about when he would wake up, if he would settle, which resulted in loosing sleep because I'd rather stay awake than send myself ill with worry about getting up! Also when my mum went back to work it got worse. 7 weeks pp now and it's settling down again, hopefully all is well for you! As @suzie80 everyone is different x
I'm like that but to the point I stopped sleeping at all. I couldn't go nap cos I wouldn't let anyone watch my girl. I wouldn't let her dad feed her at night as he always fell asleep. I couldn't co sleep as he thrashed about at night. I couldn't sleep when she slept. They blamed it on the fact I nearly lost her and she was in scbu for 2 weeks but I've always been like it. I have only just started being able to leave my girl and she's two and just started nursery. I'm a bloody control freak with anxiety. Drove myself to distraction. I ended up in a mother and baby unit twice. And even medications they gave I wouldn't sleep more than 3 hours and wouldn't let them get her up to feed. I'm like a bloody over jealous lioness don't fuxk with my baby or I'll stab u type lol! I need to let go a bit this time and sleep. Or I'll crack up hallucinating again and it wasn't pretty. I paid for private therapy when she was 3 months old but it didn't help. And they stuck me on loads of Valium and other stuff to try to sedate me. I had loads of panic attacks too. Apparently it is more common than u think. Plus I used to work in mental health so I have seen all sorts.
I'm not on medication or under any counselling even though I should be xx
@suzie80, mine been a bit of an issue while pregnant, I am mainly scared of people holding her and everyone says that's normal but it's different when anxiety is involved... I'm worried I won't be able to leave her even for 5 minuets xx
I had no issues when pregnant but normally do Hun. When I have babies mine gets horrific so I see someone from the mental health team this time to try to prevent it from getting out of hand. And I'll be on medication after delivery. As mine is so bad last time I had to quit bf and start meds and ended up with a severe form of postnatal depression and I wasn't sleeping at all. But every one is different. Im@hoping this time I'm not as bad
I hate anxiety!!! 😔
Anybody on Here With Anxiety??
My ex and his new girlfriend are about to throw me into an anxiety attack 😭
Did any of you mommies experience anxiety because of your prenatal vitamins? i noticed that i started having anxiety and anxiety attacks a week after i began taking my pranatals.

Took another one to just ease my anxiety
Do you guys see it ??
I haven't really spoken to anyone about it... My OH just dismisses it all the time and obviously my family know I don't like leaving him but none of them know about anxiety so they just think I'm being silly xx
