On June 13th 2016 after 20 hours of being induced due to preeclampsia with only one dose of Cytotec before my body took over, 17 of back to back contractions which they tried using every method in the book such as IVs and terbutalineto slow them down which all failed, getting the epidural just for me to have to give myself the extra dose with the pain button every 15 minutes for three hours baby getting little oxygen, 7 hours of being stuck at 6 cm and 85-90% effacement I started developing a fever when the doctor made her rounds and checked and discovered i was still at 6 with no progress even though I was having contractions that were more than strong enough for progression it was decided i needed a c section. Turns out baby girl was stuck on her side and couldn't turn (we tried for hours to get her to turn), my hips are too small, i was starting a fever and her heart rate was getting to concerning heights. They tried for a long time and gave me dose after dose of the med that's supposed to numb you through the epidural and it wouldn't work for me i had to be put under. A little after 10 i wake up confused and unaware of my surroundings and look to my right and see my boyfriend holding our baby girl Kyrah Jean who was born at 9:22 am on Monday June 13th 2016 weighing 9 lbs 6.8 oz and an astonishing 22 inches long. She has a little bruise on her face from laying on the internal contraction monitor and is in the NICU learning to stabilize her own blood sugars since she relied on my glucose for so long. Other than that she is completely healthy and recovering well and i am doing well after my c section.
