@rachel8792, Oh ok gotcha you're awesome for taking out the time and explaining this to me I appreciate you! But if I went that route of naming her that and she ran off in the store and I had to yell wouldn't that be bad?

Its pronounced the same way, it honestly varies on the persons tone. But in spanish its spelled guey (pronounced way). My family uses it all the time, but they mean it as if they are saying dude. When they are mad though they scream, and say it, and you know what it means when they are mad haha. I personally think if its used as name, its fine. Just as someone pointed out earlier, people name their children Dick, shoot I went to school with a guy named phuuc (f***) , it means something different in his culture so his mom named him it, we didnt think different of him.

@rachel8792, thanks love for telling me I appreciate it! And how exactly would you use it for it to become an insult and is it pronouced the same way? I'm sorry for all the questions just trying to see if we can maybe do something to it so it's not offensive in public you know with all the different cultures and what not

In spanish it means asshole, stupid or dude, depends on how you use it. Everyones name has a meaning, dont go based off of what people tell you, its your babies name. I never went off of what people told me. In highschool my hubby and I decided Adrian and Emma for names. I had my adrian even though my mom hated it, and now im having my Emma. People will always have opinions

I'm just saying it could flow both ways. Especially in our multicultural world @hermommy

for the middle name maybe something else from the Indian culture? you could look up names by culture with the meaning.

@mommyagain, it took me 2 months to pick a name lol. you could get another name from your husbands grandmother's culture that goes along with it? I love it by itself also and it has meaning which makes it better.

My grandfather's name is Dick and he's been insulted by it throughout his entire life. Which is why he's grandpa Rich. @hermommy You can name your child anything you want though throughout other cultures it could have a completely negative meaning. Just depends whatever floats your boat. You're already way ahead of me, with my no-name baby. lol Good luck on your search, I like the meaning allot just thought is mention to you that it's also a huge insult in some cultures.

personally I like it, people need to realize it's a name. Shit people name their son's DICK for crying out loud .

I've seen people get "jumped" for using that in a derogatory sense. It's a Spanish thing, but still. An insult nonetheless.

how is it an insult??? and if that is what you want to name your baby girl do it. I like the spelling and I've never seen it before its unique.

It's also a huge insult. In some cultures people will think you named your child after a swear word basically. just so you know.
