did anyone else have trouble telling their mom & dad they were pregnant? I know my mom isn't going…

I was actually terrified of what my dad was going to say, but he actually took it really well. I was afraid he would get upset and shun me and say something awful but he just said "As long as you stay healthy," and when I asked if he was disappointed he said there was no point in being disappointed and upset because it had already happened. Here I am at 36 weeks almost and he's more excited than I've seen him in years.

@blessedmom, so far I've only told my brother and he keeps giving me shit for not telling her. I don't think he would have told her already or I'm sure I would have gotten a phone call.

@katarama, I'm probably jsut over reacting but I'm scared shit less of her lol

I understand! There were a few family members that I was afraid of telling but they all took it well! I told most of my family around 12 weeks. Just try not to keep it from her for too long, because then she may be hurt that you didn't tell her.

@katarama, I think I'll tell her after my first Dr's appointment which will hopefully be this week. I'll eventually say it lol I'm just mortified until then. she hasn't been very supportive of me and my fiance getting together, or the fact I live so far away so I'm dreading what's coming

Even if she doesn't react well at first, I'm sure once that baby comes she'll come around!! A baby is a blessing no matter the situation and sometimes it just takes a little while for people to get over that initial shock factor. ❤ My mom actually told me she was SAD for me. She's the only person who had anything negative to say. But now she's super excited!

@katarama, ugh thanks so much! it's definitely better hearing other people were scared too. I know she'll eventually come around. it's just gotta happen!

@katarama, same here! My dad has been strict with me my whole life and I mean STRICT. When I told him I was pregnant he wasn't happy but he wasn't mad. He just told me he wished I was married first. He's beyond happy now that I'm due in 5 weeks. He calls me everyday to ask how I'm feeling. Good luck to you @jsco!

I was 18 when I got pregnant the first time. I was terrified to tell my dad. He took it way better than expected and he has been my support thru everything! My twins are now 2.5 and my dad loves them to death. I lived with him for a while right when I had them and he has always been such a big help. Now I am 21 and he is excited that I am giving him his first grandson! You never know, it might go better than youe expect!! And if not, things will eventually get better! Your mom will get excited, trust me!
