sssooo.... I like wine with dinner...but I wanna breastfeed exclusively at least for the first 3 months... how do I get my drink on and still feed my baby without passing the alcohol onto him? I've seen alcohol test strips at Buy Buy Baby.. do they work? are they accurate?

I had wondered the same thing with my last pregnancy. which I did breast feed too. when you drink, pump and dump that milk won't be good at all to give to the baby. I think my doctor told me to pump twice and dump that milk. but after that you should be okay yo breast feed. but every woman's body and baby is different, always consultant your doctors first. hope all works out(:

I drink sometimes just don't get so drunk that you can't drive etc and you'll be fine once you feel ok within a couple hours it's out your system I like to pump as much as I could before I do and I'm fine until morning

it isn't recommended to drink alcohol until baby is at least 6 weeks old, also when you do drink alcohol they say to drink immediately after baby has eaten and wait about 2 hours until you feed again. The rule is if you can drive and pass a breathalizer, you can breastfeed.
