I'm not vegan but I have been having adverse effects from dairy and meat. I have been eating mostly grains and vegetables. The baby will take what it needs from your body. You have minerals and vitamins on reserve. As someone else said blood work will show deficiencies. The prenatals are more for mom than baby bc as I said baby is taking from you. Just stay positive. That will help a lot too :)
@sophisticated87, your doc can do bloodwork to see if you're lacking in anything and prescribe accordingly. Just make sure you really get protein in with beans and tofu. Protein is one of your best friends
because i can't eat meat or dairy. every time i do i get super sick. so im concerned about lacking any vitamins. the only thing that i can keep down is fruits and vegetables. its my first pregnancy so im just a bit scared.
Any woman can have one, but if you're concerned about the effects being vegan can have, ask your doctor about special prenatals. They might be able to prescribe something that makes up for what you're lacking. @sophisticated87
its not for you guys to bash me. i have my reasons for asking. a simple no woukd have been enough.
@jessica0830, @sophisticated87. wait what? is this a serious question??
thanks alot ladies. I got blood work done and the doctor says everything is perfect. im taking some vegan prenatals but not always due to the fact that i have to take them 3X a day. but i try my best to keep away from Sodas and juices. my little one moves alot so im happy to know that everything is going just fine.
