So my mom is giving me grief on the fact I am not inviting my step mom or little sister to my baby…

So my mom is giving me grief on the fact I am not inviting my step mom or little sister to my baby shower. I invited them to my one for my daughter last year and it was awful! my step mom let my little sister do what ever she wanted. it was all about 'her niece'. She was so I'll behaved. running through the house pitching fits, literally licked all the icing off 25 cupcakes and just left the cupcakes, would pout when someone wasn't paying her attention. mind you she is 7 will be 8 in July. her mom didn't do ANYTHING at all to stop it. their visit to see me in the hospital was just as bad. so my mom things I'm wrong for not letting them come this time. am I? I mean who wants someone acting like that and nothing being said about it on your day for you and your baby? much less right after you deliver. they can come once I am home from the hospital but they are not welcome to come to the baby shower. her mother lets her do what ever she wants. always has. I can't say anything to her without causing drama. so am I wrong?

@deafmama16, @mrsschmalz She says it's not fair because this is her nephew. I've explained what happened when they visited me at the hospital, and how she acted at the baby shower and my mom's like she's just being a kid. no my kid acted alike that at a baby shower I'd be whooping some behind. especially the way she was at the hospital. my mom just thinks it's fine and I'm worried she's gonna let my step mom know about it and I would be so upset.

I wouldn't invite them or have a adults only baby shower. I know it's totally different but when I had my son's birthday party's it was mostly family only but every time my son would open his gifts kids would be all around him Takeing his toys and playing with him he's two so of course he didn't mind but it did pissed me off I hate to do it but his up coming birthday we are going to have just my parents and grandmother maybe his uncle david if he wants to come

no you aren't wrong, but I would still extend the invitation & tell her specifically NO kids ALLOWED, no one needs to know that you told her that & that way it'll be up to her either she comes w/o her kid or doesn't come at all. it's your event your rules, ... but I feel that if you don't extend an invitation it may be worse in the end. And she's 7???? maybe she has a condition, that just doesn't seem like typical 7 yr old behavior to me.

It's not excuse for a child at that age to be acting like she don't got no sense nor know right from wrong when technically knows what's right and what's wrong. If your mom can't respect you choice than she shouldn't be there I'm sorry to say. Or you can have law enforcement to send them away since they came uninvited and your mother invite don't matter if you are hosting the shower

@mrsschmalz, my mom and aunt and grandma are hosting it. I really don't have much of a say so on that unfortunately.@gabrielmom21, I completely understand that I really do @momofthreee unfortunately all of my friends invited have young children under ages 2 so they will have to come. I couldn't tell her no kids and her show up with kids. no condition other than my step mom and her family have raised her to have no respect for others. that entire family acts that way. it's ridiculous. @deafmama16 yeah unfortunately I'm not hosting so I don't get to make a call like that :/

I have hosted events & said no kids & when they showed up to see other children there I'd simply state well its harder to find a sitter for a baby than a 7 yr old. ...either she stays or she will go....either way YOU Weren't disrespectful you were cordial & you were trying to accomadate her without hurting her feelings.

if you were honest and said sorry you're not invited bc your child is the spawn of "Chucky" that would be hurtful & for her to not be invited to a family event ....thats hurtful too. ...

try to stay neutral and a lil White lie I think would be better appreciated than a slap in the face of "Your kid 👦 is a horror" would be better accepted. ..IMO

I was just not going to invite them. tell them I'm having a meet and greet with my son after I'm home from the hospital @momofthreee I have actually told her that my sister is mannerless and doesn't know how to act in public. she knows this she just literally says she doesn't care.
