so idk if i'm in the wrong or not but my baby shower was yesterday and i got lots of stuff. i'm so thankful. however, my mother in law that has caused me so many problems put on all the cards that she gave "to: zade, from: mama and paw paw" paw paw being her husband and my child's grandfather. idk what her fucking game is but it's gonna be a cold day in hell before my child addresses anyone but me as mama. she already talked to me about what she wanted to be called by the baby and she told me the name lubby. bitch those are two different things. idk if im just acting crazy or what but she literally has acted like my baby is going to be staying at her house overnight a couple times a week every week in the past and i had to correct her on that. now she wants my baby to call her mama since she can't have my baby all the time
Absolutely not. I actually do not get why some people let their children call their grandmothers "mama" Mines wrote the same thing for my daughter's Christmas gift, I told my husband, This is not happening I'm the only MAMA for her. Since we're hispanics "Wela" it's an easy way and she can call her that just like I call my grandmother that too. Or something else but definitely not mama. Mama it's kind of the first word they call their mommies, It wouldn't be special in my opinion the grandmother getting called mama.
If she's concerned about the baby not being able to pronounce grands, there are other options. My stepmom is Mimi. My sisters inlaw is Gigi
@mlindzey, @phinnybinz thank you. i was starting to second guess myself
@arivera64, maybe that's it and i want to give her the benefit of the doubt but she's just causing problems at this point. she literally told my husband i was cheating on him because she saw me in the store with my brother, who i just randomly ran into to and spoke to for two minutes. she hyped my husband up with so many lies that he was ready to leave me without ever talking to me. she told him that he would be a good single father, to get full custody of my child, and that she would help him raise my son.
You're in the right. This is your baby and she is over stepping her role and Grandma.
totally understand you. My MIL always says how are my babies it bothers me like those are my babies your grandchildren, we also just moved and she said 'you didn't even think about me I'm never gonna get to see my babies. Were literally like 20 mins away. my daughter doesn't even really like her use to scream when she went to her and even now at a year in a half when MIL calls her over Keira stays with me and wont happily walk to her like she does with my Mom. some MILs are overbearing sorry your dealing with this.
Nope! Wouldn't be happening. Put her in her place now before it gets worse.
I understand that
Maybe she put it that way because babies cant pronounce grandma? My 2yr old calls my mom and mother in law mama because he cant fully say grandma. They're mama and I'm mommy.
Your kid, your rules. I'm dealing with an overstepping mother in law right now too. It may be her grandchild, but it's YOUR child. That's my stance.. They've been here for 10 days and are finally leaving today... So I'm frustrated enough to agree w you ENTIRELY.

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page

My sweet baby girl gained her angel wings this morning. She was my best friend, my true love my everything. She was so happy and beautiful, I'm struggling to say good bye. Sleep tight princess, mummy and daddy love you very very much ❤️

Does this look like a dog? If so, what kind? Someone posted it on a lost dog Facebook page and said that she is very skinny and looks like she's been on her own for a while. She kind of looks like a baby fox or coyote to me.

Her helmet she got so she can be safe (as she told me) when she rides her bike and scooter lol
So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
I'm having a similar issue with my mil. My sons been staying there for a little over a month because we had a house fire and he's still in school so since we were bouncing from hotels to temporary houses I let him stay there to go to school. School lets out for summer on Friday and I told him he's staying with us in our rental till we move back in our house next month. My son wants to argue that he's staying with my mil and to top that off she keeps arguing why can't he stay? I told them both that the situation was temporary and only for his schooling, he's our son and belongs with us. He's developed an attitude since staying there my mom seems to think she's brainwashing him because she doesn't wanna live alone. I told my husband come hell or high water he's coming home with us and if she doesn't back it then he's not gonna be visiting with her for a while. No other woman should try to replace you as your child's mother...period!
