He may be jaundice and in need of sunlight and vitamin d drops. Depending on the severity he may need to be under a special light

How old is baby!? That's usually a strong indicator of jaundice! Put baby's swing in front of a window that gets sunlight. It'll help.

Don't be scared. It's good that you have an appt tomorrow. For today get him in a little sunlight and try not to worry. He will be just fine!

Yeah, nothing to be scared about :) it's a very common thing to happen. 2/3 of mine had to be under lights for a few days...they also have lights you can use at home. My son had a billi blanket he wore at home for 3 days. He'll be ok Mama :)

Yeah it should be fine as long as you have some good lighting.

sometimes the baby isn't getting enough milk to empty their bowels. my son had this problem since my milk flow didn't come in until a week later and once he ate more he pooped more and the yellow went away on its own. if you are breastfeeding you should buy the pre-made liquid formula just to supplement in the meantime . they usually come in an 8 pack of 2ounces each. I hope the yellow clears out soon. I had this same problem and was so worried but I goggled everything like crazy and things turned out it my favor

😂 She'd be a great guard lol! That is kinda sweet. I'm curious, when does she say you're "fully healed" though? A couple of weeks, til you stop bleeding, the full 6 weeks? I love hearing about these things

@m3, your milk doesn't normally come in until about 3-4 days after birth anyway. You do not have to supplement unless baby isn't making enough wet diapers etc. Jaundice for newborns can be caused by a few things, and usually it's just the liver being slightly immature, not lack of milk.

@mommagotbump16, I don't know. I asked her the same thing. She didn't answer me. She'll be here for about a month.

@aheggs3, lol uh oh! 😂 If you're breastfeeding then plenty of poop is normal (and if it is jaundice, the extra bilirubin will be eliminated in his poop so it's a good thing 😉)

sorry just now seeing this. and yes I know. that's why I supplemented the first couple of days after leaving the hospital because that seemed to be what the problem was in my case. anywho I hope Things clear up soon and that it's nothing too serious. sorry I couldn't help D:
