So I had an emergency c- section on Friday at 9:45 am. I gave birth to a little boy, Samuel Quention Holcomb. He weighed 6lbs and 2ozs. Was 19" tall. He had to be taken to the Nic unit because his breathing was too erratic and he swallowed the poop. His blood sugar kept dropping so they have him on an IV. Now they are telling me that his labs are coming back with a lot of abnormalities. They started him on antibiotics and are saying that he might have to stay here at the hospital for a week. I have barely been able to hold him and I haven't been allowed to try breastfeeding. I am getting depressed, if only thy hadn't sent me home the first time, Quen would have been better. But even in the pain, they sent me home due to the fact that I wasn't dilated enough, I was just having really bad cramps. My OB thinks that the problem was that the placenta was trying to be born first. Either way I don't want to leave my baby here alone.
