I need a nice way so i dont sound like a bitch....to explain/tell my husbands mother that she cant smell like cig smoke or perfume when she comes over and needs to wash her hands, if she wants to hold our daughter. I want to tell her like soon cause shes coming to our home after our daughter is born. Thanks in advance
well its important that she listens because it can effect the baby's health. so if she can't do that, then she shouldn't be around the baby, because the baby's health is more important than what she wants to do. my children's doctor always talks about third hand smoke(smoke on the clothes, ect), because my mom is a smoker(she visits) but she doesn't believe it can harm someone(I get bad headaches when she's around). So just in force it and let her know its not just her, its for everyone to follow.
@adaraa126, I like rules especially when it comes to his mother @mommadearest_. I tend to be upfront with her she just takes 90% of whata said the wrong way. I told my husband i dont even want her holding our daughter. ( his mom is not the greatest person)
@kelseys, she lives an hr away and doesn't drive. 40 wk appt is monday. I wont let anyone smoke around my kids. but i dont want her even smelling like smoke around her . my soon to be 6 year old usually stays away from her lol
I would just be up front, it's your babygirl you make the rules. I'm sure she'll understand
just explain that its a rule for everyone..even you and your husband..i had to do the same when my son was born
have her come to an appointment. the doctor will talk about third hand smoke, the effects it can have on the baby and what steps should be done to prevent that. or have your husband tell her to save you the drama.
I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
So this morning my fiancé and me went to my folks for Christmas. On our way there we had to stop at his ex fiancé house to drop off an ornament we found of hers when we were setting up our tree. I was upset because I really didn't want to see her especially on our first Christmas being engaged and our daughters first Christmas because she has been mean about me in the past. Now I come to find out that she has been asking him about our daughter and stuff like that. Do I have a right to be upset o...
when my last son was born we made a generic sign and hung it up. that way it didn't judge just one person. it was the rule for everyone who came in! be creative.
