hi there mum's need some advice I've recently been told I have a heart condition called pulmonary hypertension which 1 in 2 women die from it before giving birth doctors have adviced me to terminate I am 22 weeks pregnant I just can't bring myself to do it but on the other hand I have other children what would you do?
What blood disorder do you have I have factor 5 liden and have to take clexane daily and I'm having a c Section and have serious risk of bleeding but I pursuaded them to give me a c section don't give up just yet get as much advice as possible xx
Ohhh I'm sorry. It must be so tough for you. I hope you have the support you need around you x Thanks @jod1303 xxx
unfortunately for me I have a blood condition that won't allow me to have c sections
i believe she has discussed this @ljay @natzie86 @suzie31 and its not possible xx
This is so sad to read. Can't even begin to imagine what your going through :-( is there absolutely no way you can go through with the pregnancy by maybe giving birth prematurely but I little further on? Have a c-section? I don't really have no clue about this just really hope your okay. X
@sandee, I don't know anything about your condition, I'm so sorry you've found out at this time/stage in your pregnancy. Can't you have a meeting with your consultant/mw to gather as much info as possible so you can make an informed decision? Is there not a way you could maybe have a csection at 30weeks or maybe a couple of weeks later? I'm not trying to sway you in any direction.
Could they not do a c section a bit earlier. Or is that dangerous too. God I can't imagine how you are feeling, sending you love and strength X
it must be so hard, I can't imagine having to make a decision like this hun. xx
thanks for the advice @jod1303 I know what your saying is right I'm really trying to blank out the attachment with unborn baby so I can do it xx
its an awful decision to make but i wouldnt risk my children being without a mum they are here they have bonded physically and mentally with u. they need u hun xx
thanks girls I think it's just hard I wished I knew sooner I can't get over the having to give birth to baby xx
Oh Hun that's awful I'm so sorry to hear that :( maybe do some research into it if you haven't but there are some amazing cases when women have been told baby / mum won't survive / have much life etc and they defy the odds and doctors but if you also have other children and there's a huge risk of something tragic happening maybe think of them little ones I can't imagine how hard this is for you I do hope your ok ❤️ xx@
I have factor 5 Leiden as well and am on fragmin injections and aspirin I was before in my last pregnancy. Sadly I know a little about the condition @sandee I have a friend who I went to school with who has spent most of her life in and out of the heart unit with this. She was told not to have children too as the strain it places on your body is simply too much in the late 2nd trimester going into the 3rd. The problem is there's no way of knowing when a prob may arise and it tends to happen suddenly and without warning and if often immediately fatal. I can appreciate the doctors advice. To continue with the pregnancy could highly probably end your life suddenly without warning at all. And they wouldn't have time to deliver your baby. If u continued your pregnancy now you would need to deliver in the next few weeks which would place you at risk hugely and the baby may not make it at all. There balancing probability and I guess choosing your health and life. I've not heard of someone surviving the pregnancy. As I spoke with my friend some years back after I'd had my 3rd about the condition and likelihood of her carrying into the third trimester. Sadly she couldn't take the risk with her health and has not had children but I don't know what I would do either.
