I got pregnant on it! it was my second time taking it and halfway threw my second one I found out I was 4weeks pregnant

I was on the depo shot for almost 3 years when I was younger. I didnt gain weight I actually lost weight and I stopped having a period after a couple of injections. I stopped doing it because I was told by my dr that it isnt safe to be on for more than 3 years at a time because it can affect your bone marrow and i was also concerned about having problems getting pregnant....That was also like 7 years ago so things may have changed but still something to think about.

you can choose. it's like three, five and ten years I think. but you can have it removed at any time.

@mommakaz, how long is the iud implanted for ?

@kelseys, Yeah my sister in law had gotten the depo shot and she lost so much weight but than other tell me they gain the weight sooo idk lol

I've always really liked the implant. It's good for a few years. No remembering to take a pill or going in for shots. And from what my OB told me it shouldn't affect milk supply.

I loved it when I had it, after I had my first son. I'll be getting it again after this baby. I had no weight gain, it actually made me lose weight.

I've had allot of women in my life tell me about the weight gain. never once have I even heard about weight loss. I've been looking into allot of things. since I'm going to be breastfeeding and BC causes you to lose your milk supply I won't be on it for awhile. but I've been hearing allot of women talking about the copper hormone free IUD.

@mommy082111, @mommakaz @jacey3. I did hear about the gain weight but i also heard it made u lose the weight ... Is there any other birth control you mommies would recommend??

I had it. works great. but the weight gain is horrible. no matter how much I exercised or how well I ate. the weight wouldn't drop.

My three best friends were all my size (size 0) they got it and put on so much weight. They are now in a size 7-9 and struggling to lose it still.

I gained so much weight.. I only got it once.

I'm on the depo shot and I haven't got pregnant works great. no pain every 3 months go for another shot. I like it.
