I'm doing it with my son. I plan on letting my doc cut it once my placenta is delivered. There are risks that can happen from leaving it unclamped for too long so I felt that was adequate amount of time ! but my doctor is so great, I don't see him being in much of a hurry.

I plan to do it with my son, it's very beneficial for the baby, if you're able to do it I say go for it. Hopefully plan on leaving it unclamped for at least until it turns white and stops pulsing

I had plans to do it with my son. Doctor was completely on board with my birth plan but when doctor went to check me and I was 9 1/2 dilated she also said there was gonna be a change of plans in delaying the cord cutting bc the cord was wrapped around Jordan's neck. my husband wasn't even able to cut the cord. but they got him out safe and he was OK.

Most doctors are in a rush when it comes to cutting the cord. I'm guessing you leave it attached until the cord is white like the one above.

my doctors always waited to clamp or cut my kids. i have a picture of my first born after she was born and her cord looked like the one on the right.

I saw this today and I'm going to talk to my doctor next appointment and request they don't have it cut until she gets everything she needs.
