she has a great latch! i have to use a nipple shield. cause she slides right off my nipple. but im gonna talk to my wic office about latching when i go in :) and thank you! @mrssanderson
@jpb6716, did they say the baby's latch is good at least? My son sometimes gets lazy & doesn't latch on properly & I have to unlatch him & put him back on or it hurts... maybe that's what's happening with you? The first couple weeks are the hardest girly, just try to stick it out! If you have any questions, need to vent, or even just want some positive encouragement, feel free to message me ☺️
i tried to today and she didn't really help much :/ @mrssanderson
It's going to be uncomfortable for the first week or so but it does get better! Also if you have the chance to meet with a lactation consultant, they can help you work on latch & positioning to make things more comfortable for both you & baby
I started out with a nipple shield. After a few days I weaned him off if it. I think it was less than a week that it was painful.
it hurts at first, your nipples aren't used to being sucked on 24/7 and that's very sensitive skin. just keep pushing through and telling yourself that it's whats best for you baby and for yourself. it's so worth it, I promise!
