you really technically shouldn't be pumping until like 6 weeks. and she might have spit up because she could have ate too much

@littlemissrainesmommy, I asked the pediatricians nurse an she said I can start to pump since I don't plan on just doing boob only.

If you're planning on building up a good supply via pumping you should be pumping every 2-3 hours for about 15-20 minutes :)

@ang20 no it will totally vary from woman to woman! I started out getting 1 ounce between the two and usually never got more than 3 ounces total per pumping session but I have a friend who started off pumping and would get 10 ounces at a time! If your baby needs more milk than you can pump you can try some natural remedies or supplement formula

@amarsig23, ya I called the nurse told me to try a lil formula to get her to eat a lil more

@ang20 I had to supplement formula for my son pretty frequently bc I only got 15-20 ounces a day and he drinks more like 30. Any bit of breast milk will be beneficial though, so that's what matters!

@ang20 yeah my son never had any issues with spitting either up or preferring one over the other, but he just LOVES eating in general lol!

@amarsig23, lol. She spits it up but it's her first time using a bottle. I just hope that's the case were its just gunna take her time to get use to the bottle

@ang20 when my son was young I would just start with small amount of milk at a time. One of my friends has to keep her son elevated for like an hour after feeding him. If he is laid on his back at all he will spit up. Just keep trying, but the bottle is a learning process because it's easier and faster to get milk out of, so that definitely could have contributed to her spitting up
