My doctor told me yesterday that my baby is in the 83 percentile. She also said that they do not Induce people with large babies. I am a fingertip dilated, but what would happen if I go past my due date? I'd prefer to wait for him to come on his own, I'm just curious as to how long without being induced is normal to stay pregnant?

yeah, they don't induce for "big" babies because the measurements are so inaccurate they're off by 1-2 lbs usually.
if you're a ftm, here they won't induce until 42 weeks, unless medically necessary

yeah. they swore my friends baby was over 10 lbs and she was 8.5
it's a little different everywhere but here they try to avoid induction unless absolutely necessary

I was 9 days past my due date with my son. I had to get induced, but that morning I went into labor. they guessed my baby boy @ 8lbs 4oz. with an ultrasound. he ended up 8lbs 5oz. they are now guessing by feel 8lbs 8oz. I'm not worried.
