It makes me so sad when I see moms give up on breastfeeding so easily. And all because they aren't enough educated on it. My advice to new moms, do as much research on it as you can while you're pregnant.. take classes, ask other moms questions.. do everything you can to prepare yourself for when your baby is born. And when baby gets here, use your resources! Talk to a LC while you're in the hospital even if you feel like things are going great, because things get a lot different when you get home, don't be afraid to call L&D once you're home if you run into problems. But keep in mind that even if you do all of that, it's no walk in the park. Don't give up! It took me three and half weeks of excruciating pain.. bleeding, cracked, sore nipples and dreading every feeding because of it, before we got the hang of things. I thought about giving up multiple times and felt like a failure even more times and I can honestly say pushing through all of that was the best choice I ever made. It's so worth it in the end. The bond that is created is like no other, to know that my baby needs me and only me to nourish and comfort her and that she knows it too is amazing. And to know that she is getting everything she needs from me is so reassuring. Not to mention, it's a lot cheaper and more convenient than having to pack a bunch of bottles, water and formula every time you leave the house 👌 nothing against formula at all, just my personal experience!
