When is everyone planning on taking their maternity leave? I only ask beause I was booking off my hospital appointments with my manager( she has been really funny about me taking time off for my appointments) and I have one in the middle of October and she said that I'll be on my maternity leave by then....but I'm not due until 18th November?
How long is everyone planning on leaving it?

if you have appointments during work hours for antenatal then by law they have to pay you half day, they can then however insist you work the other half of the day. I phoned my union about this because my company tried to tell me I wasn't entitled to any of it paid, my union then visited my boss and I was paid back three half days for appointments I'd already attended. make sure you fight this because you are entitled to it legally and why should you use your annual leave for her convenience? it's there for your convenience not hers xx

check your maternity policy if you haven't already @weddingbaby2016. Your boss sounds annoying. usually for pregnancy related appointments you're allowed to just have them without having to book holidays. Tel HR and request a copy then go through it with a fine tooth comb. your boss sounds like she isn't going to help you so it looks like you will need to just go straight to HR xx

@briony1994, I've never got paid for any of my appointments, I work 3 full days and 2 half days mon-fri but if I have an appointment they put me on one of my half days that day! Like on Thursday I have one at 220 but need to leave work at 1240, my shift should be til 1 so I will only get paid until 1240 x

In your job you might be on your feet quite a bit so you might like to take leave earlier, she does sound annoying

You don't get to choose when some appointments are booked, if she carries on treating you like this then go to HR and explain how she is being! My boss has been difficult throughout so I know how you feel but don't let her treat you like this!!xx

@briony1994, I work in retail and my boss took my time off for appointments to HR (she doesn't understand it's the law and she doesn't have children) and HR put her straight but she's making it so hard for me at work 😒 she's said I need to book the appointments in my own time not on works time so I said if I had a 9-5 Monday - Friday job all my appointments would be in work hours 😡😡😡😡 she's so annoying!! I'll speak to my OH we have a long time yet I was just wondering but thank you ladies @karenb1601 @rachbabyno2 @mich77 @kelsxox
