Okay now I'm worrying, I heard today if I don't return to work after my maternity leave is up I have to pay back all my maternity leave and if I go back I have to work my contracted hours without change and work for at least a year before I can leave :( I'm panicking now! Why is everything so stressful! 😭
@charney91x, where I work if I don't return to work for 3 months then I have to pay back 12 weeks maternity leave, however my maternity pay is made up from employer contribution and SMP so it's only the employers contribution I will be paying back. I've worked it out as being £2000 for me. Not sure how urs will work as all employers have different maternity policies but is there some info about the time you must return to work for? I guess if you haven't got the money they would have to accept monthly installments as they can't have what you haven't got xxx
unless ur works pay u extra maternity leave onto of statuary maternity pay.. you dont have to pay nothing back if you dont go back... and you certainly dont have to work a year you just give them ir correct notice which is four weeks xx
Apparently if you go back you have to work for at least a year! Before you can leave 😩 xx
It's like that at my work but they only pay maternity for 6 weeks at 90% of my wage so that's all I'd have to pay back if I decided to not return which really sucks xx
