so why is it that my SO tells me to open up and when I do .. he just takes it the wrong way..

so right now we're going through an financial struggle but we are slowly getting back to how things use to be. these past months all we've been doing is working and stressing about bills.. and it's draining. today I was like I'm tired I feel like we're never together and all we talk about is what's the next bill due and what not.. he took it as me being unhappy and claiming that all I do is mope around the house. I was confused not once did i say I was unhappy with him .. I dislike the fact that we're never together with our son or as a family.. wouldn't anyone feel like that though ... there's a disconnection somewhere right?
