What works best for heartburn? I have it and its really bad?

I've been taking tums ( the chalky kind ) & don't find that it helps. my mother in law gave me two chewable tums last night & it worked instantly. gonna go to the store tonight to get some because they were actually really good compared to the originals & worked really well.

Tums is the only thing that helps me

@twins0my, You're welcome! I hope it helps for you. It's my lifesaver. My heartburn got so bad that I would throw up from it. I only notice it now if I forget to take it.

You're welcome @twins0my even the generic brand of Zantac is very good also and I think it's only 4.00 at Walmart

Zantac for sure! My insurance covers the generic which is called ranitidine, which is 150mg and I take it twice daily.
