so my son will be 2 weeks on Tuesday and the postpartum bleeding is not like my last pregnancy i only bled for a week this one im bleeding more and its not full pads its more a bright red stingy mucus thing that comes out when i pee the day after i had my son i had a clot half the size of my pad and about a half inch thick that when the stringy stuff started coming i stoped bleeding Wednesday but the stingy stuff is still there anyone know what it could be and how long it will be until it goes away

I had that for 5 weeks. My OB told me it was the built up blood in the uterus, the birthing blood, and discharge all mixing together while exiting at once. I had 2nd degree tearing so it was considered normal for me, according to my doc.

I was told it's a healthy sign. But to get checked if it starts smelling weird, like in an earthy (dirt, outdoors, etc) kind of manner, releases more clots than loose blood, or if it brings itching and pain if not accompanied by stitches.

there is some clotting but its every 3 times i go to the bathroom anc its just a slimy stringy bright red and comes out when i pee like how mucus plugs come out its really gross
