people try it because they haven't educated themselves and/or just don't care. They try it because nothing has ever happened to the people they know.

i did it with my 1st two kids. i would never do it again knowing what I know now. Plus on top of that if the baby isn't ready to come out they just aren't gonna. Like I said I did it with my 1st 2. have me the runs and some contractions but didn't send me into labor. i tried it 2 times with one pregnancy. So be safe don't do it. read up on it. baby will come when he/she is ready😉

I'm glad you've decided against it mama. Many ppl try it because they are desperate. They think "That won't happen to me/my baby". Also many people are not well informed. And sadly, its an old school remedy and some old docs and midwives still tell their patients to try it.

Well they obviously try it because they're impatient, but the risk isn't worth it.

Castor oil is a harsh stimulant laxitive. It can cause intense contractions that are abnormal, possibly placing lots of stress on your baby. That can deprive the baby of proper oxygen and stress the heart. It may also cause the baby to poop which can be life threatening if they inhale or swallow it inside or during birth. Please use safer home induction methods like sex, walking, etc.
