I'd keep looking that is a little much not to even include insurance it's like paying rent come up with a budget plan and then see what you can actually afford and stick with that trust me you'll find something it'll just take time

How's your guy's credit? Instead of making a payment at a used car lot you could try taking out a personal loan at a bank if your credit is good. It may have smaller monthly payments.

Yeah that's too high of a payment. There are reliable vehicles for less money, too. My new one is the most reliable I've had and it was 7000.

I would keep looking! Just look at different dealerships. I ended up getting my car from a dealership and I only pay 205 a month. Some places also include the insurance in the payment so you could look into places like that as well!

keep looking set a payment amount you want to do and go from there. $450 a month for a $13,000 vehicle is ridiculous.

Toyota @jaxmama we have no credit so that's why this is so difficult . we can't just go look at cars because no one will approve it since we have no credit. 😣

Yep and I was also gonna say to everyone else responding it could be credit. Sometimes people have no choice. My husband and I were the same way two years ago bad credit and yet they told us we had to come up with at least 3500 down and 350 a month. Have you guys considered like a Carmax or somewhere that's not like an actual franchise?

Try to find a co-signer with good credit/income and the payments would be cheaper, since it seems like he has a really high interest rate. If he has any good connections with banks/credit unions, get a draft from them first and then bring it to the dealership.

how about try leasing a car payments are about 180 a month and after your 3 year lease is up you choose if you will keep it or not also they will do all the maintenance on the car for free for those 3 years

@kp_111516, I agree with everyone else I say no. Not being mean but since u are asking for advise I will give mine I think u need to prioritize your life (for baby) and budget. If u don't have credit there has to be a reason and a car is not the best place to start for building it bc interest. I would get a credit card asap pay it off monthly interest free if u don't qualify go the secured route. Then save my money shop for affordable cash car and when u find it open a cd even thought rates are less than .01 it's still better than handing over cash to someone. Then get a loan against ur own cd and use that money to pay for the very affordable car. Bank of America min is 5k last I checked which has been a while but I think that could be an adorable amount for your budget sounds like u can do that much. I think chase has a lower min but you would just need to check around at different banks. It may be hard for anyone to give u a chance but this is a for sure way to never be told no bc ur actually giving the money up front basically same as cash. All while nobody is making a dime in interest off of u. Plus you would be doing your credit a great favor to rule out potential issues like this in the future. That's how places make money do ur research. Ask for a break down back at that company and check out what would be applied to principal each month u will probably 💩 when u see the number then just get up and RUN. Hope this helps.
